Mental - Calms the mind and eases fear, anxiety, anger, worries and tension during times of physical and emotional stress. Brings peace and patience and enhances overall feelings of calmness and relaxation. Chamomile herb, taken in the form of tea, helps in treating insomnia.
Physical - Provides a nervine action, relieving pain associated with the nerves such as neuralgia, headaches, toothache, and earache. A gentle relaxant for menopause and menstrual cramps and pains. Chamomile is a good remedy for gastrointestinal problems. Provides relief to those suffering from gastritis, diarrhea, colitis, peptic ulcers, flatulence, and inflammation of the bowels. Also useful for genito-urinary tract problems. Possibly useful for liver problems such as jaundice. Has mild effect on children facing teething problems and earache.
Skin - Chamomile is also used in treating skin problems, providing soothing calming and cleansing action -- useful for burns, blisters, inflamed wounds, ulcers, boils, dermatitis, eczema, rashes, wounds, and hypersensitive skin problems. Also used for dry, itchy skin, puffiness and allegeric conditions in general. Reportedly smoothens out broken capillaries, blisters -- improving elasticity and tissue strength. It can also be used to lighten fair hair.
Using Chamomile oil
• For bath or massage, add 10 drops to a warm bath for relaxation. Diluted with a carrier oil, it can be massaged in, and used as a compress for headaches.
• It is also an excellent household disinfectant.
• A calming massage of Roman Chamomile diluted with a carrier oil relaxes sore overworked muscles or inflamed joints.
• Diffuse fragrant Roman Chamomile in a Crystal Diffuser to ease headaches and nervous tension.

What are some good colour combinations for backgrounds in still life paintings?
I paint in oils, and want to paint some fruit like red and green apples, brown pears and some figs. I’m not very good at choosing background colours. I like the look of dark areas gradiating to light areas, I’m not sure what colours work well in the dark that don’t look like mud.

Apple of My Eye
They reside inside the basket,
a small community of their own
together yet seperate
Their skins are all I see
Hidden
is the actual fruit
of the apples
The dark, red ones
reign over the rest,
boasting their deep, ruby color-
skin as glossy as the jewel itself
They are known for their gingery flavor,
sweeter than a cup of sugar
and two cups of honey
Crisp, crunchy, refreshing
(or so they say)
The apples everyone love
The apples everyone want
The Perfect Apples
Plastered with a bright green peel,
The Unwanted Apples
boldly contast
against the redness of their superiors,
seperating themselves
like oil poured into water
They are labeled ‘sour’
They are tagged ‘tangy’
Yet
how can you ever really know
if they’re sweet
or if they’re sour
until you take bite?
And this community of fruit
is not complete
without the lowest class:
The Rotten Apples
beaten and bruised
smeared in stains
freckled with dirt
insect bites here and there
a brown shade washed over them
Poor care
is to blame for their condition,
is to blame for the fact
that no one will ever
give them a second glance
The Perfect Apples
The Undesirable Apples
and
The Rotten Apples
These seemed to be
the only residents
inside the basket of apples-
but then a small fruit caught my eye,
hidden among the rest
All the colors autumn can bring
were painted onto this apple
every shade of red
every tint of green
specks of yellow
blotches of orange-
all blended together
to make one very unique apple
And unlike the other apples
I could not tell
just by looking at its skin
how this apple tasted…

For all of the above, refer to your studies of the COLOR WHEEL. A>Background darks can retain freshness in INTENSITY (unmuddied) in several ways: 1) Keep VALUES as close to fresh out of the tube as possible. 2) Darken mostly (if not ONLY) with DIRECT COMPLIMENTS. 3) When mixing, DO NOT OVER MIX. Over mixing creates blandness and aborts the possible birth of those beautiful “accidentals” that make us look like absolute geniuses. B>Choice of (endless) background colors: 1) DIRECT or “NEAR”-DIRECT COMPLIMENTARY ( ALSO TRY SPLIT COMPLIMENTS) of conglomeration of dominant foreground colors. 2) Experiment,…take chances,…be brave!! …that’s all i got.

It is really good, the angalogies are good. The only problem I have is how the apples taste how they look, your saying the sad people don’t taste good, and that the perfect apples are better than the rest. With apples yes, with people, which I’m sure you’re reffering to, not always. The poem, though, I think is still excellent and well thought out. Keep writing.
